A couple who went to see the American rapper Pitbull perform at a festival on their wedding day say their 15-hour celebrations were "a bit mad".

Kym Sutcliffe and Tyler Scarisbrick, from St Helens, got married at St Margaret's and All Hallows Church in Warrington on Sunday.

After a quick pit stop at a local pub, they saw Pitbull aka Mr Worldwide headline the Lytham Festival's final day before rounding everything off by finding a bar to watch England beat Mexico in the last 16 of the World Cup.

Pitbull fans are known for emulating the star's bald appearance at his gigs. Kym told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I had my wedding dress on, and my bald cap, and my goatee, I must have looked a right picture!"

The couple had only been engaged for about six weeks and brought forward their wedding plans in the hope that an ill family member could attend.

Unfortunately, their relative's health took a turn for the worse and they were unable to make the wedding, which Kym said had made the occasion "bittersweet".

Tyler said that while he did not think their guests "expected much" because of how quickly everything had to be organised, "it was a really nice day" with "a really nice service" in the church.

From there, Kym said they "went to the pub, had a few drinks, made our way up to Lytham, then had a good night with Pitbull", including an unusual first dance.

The wedding ceremony was just the start of Kym and Tyler's big day

Pitbull was the final headliner of the five-day festival held on Lytham Green.

Festival organisers said it had been their most successful year to date.

Kym said her friends bought her and her new husband their tickets and she had changed her outfit for the festival.

She said she was "a bit extra" getting two wedding dresses - one for the service and the other - which she bought online second hand - for Pitbull.

The wedding dress meant the couple certainly got "lots of attention", Tyler said.

"It was all good attention though - everyone was dead nice and congratulating us!"

Kym said the festival was "really good, and then we got dropped back in Warrington to watch the England game".

She said it was "5 or 6 o'clock in the morning by the time we were getting home - it was mad!"

Tyler said the England win was the "best possible way" their wedding day could have ended.

The couple said they were now off to the Cotswolds for their honeymoon, and would be planning even more parties and celebrations.
