A man has died after a lorry with a crane attached overturned and collided with a van.

Avon and Somerset Police said the man, a passenger in the van and in his 30s, died at the scene of the crash which happened at about 14:25 BST on Thursday on the A37 at Ston Easton near Midsomer Norton.

The van driver was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, the force added, while the lorry driver was uninjured.

Police said the A37 is still shut after being closed overnight for investigation work and repairs to the road surface.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage has been urged to contact police.
