Mechanical fault believed to have caused fire
Amber Valley Borough CouncilA mechanical fault is believed to have caused a road sweeper to catch fire in a park in Derbyshire.
A fire crew was called to Alfreton Welfare Recreation Ground at 07:41 BST on Wednesday, a spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze and damp down the area, before leaving the scene at 08:22.
Amber Valley Borough Council said all members of staff involved were unhurt, while the affected area of the park was cleaned and reopened later on Wednesday.
