Arson arrest after several bin fires overnight

Police officers are appealing for information

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after several Bristol bin fires on the same night.

Avon and Somerset Police received reports of fires in Totterdown, Broadmead, Nelson Street, Corn Street and Welsh Back at about 03:15 BST.

The force said it arrested a 36-year-old man who remains in custody. Anyone with footage or further information was asked to contact police.

While there were no reported injuries, Ch Insp Keith Smith said one business sustained some exterior damage to its building, which would have a "financial impact".
