Family 'beyond heartbroken' after fatal crash

The family of an 18-year-old who was killed in a car crash said their world would "never be the same again".

Acacia Barnett was a passenger in a red Ford Fiesta that hit a tree near the junction of Horns Lane and Lane End Road in High Wycombe on 3 September. She has been formally identified by the Buckinghamshire coroner.

Her family said they were "beyond heartbroken at the tragic loss of [their] beautiful Acacia", who had an "amazing sense of humour".

A 19-year-old woman from High Wycombe who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving has been released on police bail while inquiries continue. Three other people in the car had minor injuries.

The family said Acacia had a "real love of animals, especially reptiles", and loved to "read, build Lego and spend her time surrounded by nature".

"Having recently finished college, Acacia started working two part-time jobs, which really helped her confidence grow," they said.

"[We] watched her flourish from a child who struggled socially to a young woman who would talk to anyone.

"From the moment she was born, she became [our] world, forever by [our] side and always making [us] laugh.

"She was a very much-loved daughter, sister, grand-daughter, niece and cousin."
