A cyclist in his 60s has been seriously injured after being involved in a crash with a van in North Hykeham, police have said.

Lincolnshire Police said emergency crews were called to a collision at the junction of Newark Road and St Aidens Road shortly before 17:40 BST on Thursday.

The incident involved a blue Ford Transit van and a man riding a push bike, the force said. The rider of the push bike was taken to hospital with serious injuries, it added.

The force is appealing for information after the driver of the van failed to stop at the scene.

Police said the cyclist was travelling towards Lincoln in the cycle lane, while the driver of the van had approached from the Asda roundabout and was turning right into St Aiden's Road.

The force said the van had no writing or distinguishing features and appealed for the driver to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who was in the area at the time and has dashcam footage, is asked to contact the police.
