Children's library to stay open during refurb
City of Wolverhampton CouncilYoung readers will still be able to access library services and regular group activities when Wolverhampton's children's section closes temporarily for a refurb.
The Children's Library at Central Library on Snow Hill will be shut for several weeks but is due to reopen in time for Christmas, the council said.
City of Wolverhampton Council said the space would be redecorated with new flooring, shelving and furniture.
"These improvements will create a brighter, more welcoming and accessible place where children and young people can enjoy books, take part in activities and spend quality time with their friends and family," said councillor Obaida Ahmed.
A limited children's section will continue to be available on the first floor, with regular groups such as Saturday Storytime and Lego club taking place as usual.
The service played "a vital role" in fostering a lifelong love of reading, Ahmed added.
"I'd like to thank customers for their patience while the improvements are completed, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the refreshed Children's Library as soon as possible," she said.
The library building has undergone significant renovations over the past two years, including a replacement roof, new first-floor offices and restored facade.
