Sidecar passenger flown to hospital after crash

A passenger travelling in a sidecar of a motorbike was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision with a Transit van.

Norfolk Police said the incident involved a green Suzuki motorcycle with a sidecar and a stationary blue Ford Transit van on the A149 on Main Road in Rollesby at about 10:30 BST on Thursday.

A woman in her 70s who was the passenger in the sidecar was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and is now in a stable condition.

The rider of the motorbike, a man in his 70s, was taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston with minor injuries.

The road was closed while emergency services attended and was reopened at 16:30.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
