Locals left shaken after discovery of man's body
Shariqua Ahmed/BBCA Peterborough neighbourhood has spoken of its shock at the discovery of a man's body on a suburban street.
Cambridgeshire Police were called to Campion Road in Dogsthorpe at about 07:15 BST on Monday. Officers said the death of the man, believed to be in his 60s, is being treated as suspicious.
Officers have remained in the area on Wednesday carrying out enquiries in nearby Broom Close.
Paul Johnson, who lives nearby, said: "When you hear about things like this it's normally on the news, but when it comes to your own community, it makes you sit up and take notice. It's shocking, to say the least."
He said officers had been searching drains and speaking to residents.
"They're obviously looking for something. It's daunting to see the police are still here," he added.
Shariqua Ahmed/BBCAnother resident, who asked not to be named, described the area as a "quiet, lovely street" and said she was "shaken up" by what had happened.
Another said a lack of information from police was making neighbours feel "uncomfortable".
"No one would tell us anything," she said.
"There were about 20 police officers and three ambulances outside my door on Monday morning. They [police] are still here and no one is telling us anything now."
Some residents told the BBC they saw the man being given CPR by the emergency services.
Shariqua Ahmed/BBCPolice said a post-mortem examination was due to take place on Wednesday, followed by a formal identification of the man.
A force spokesperson said officers had increased patrols in the area while investigations continued. Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
