Town centre road closed after water main bursts
Bedford Borough CouncilWork has begun to repair a road after a water main burst in a town centre.
High Street in Bedford was closed on Monday while Anglian Water teams carried out emergency repairs to the damaged main.
Bedford Borough Council said the road will stay shut to vehicles between St Peter's Street and Mill Street while the company repairs the road surface.
Anglian Water has been approached for comment.
Vehicles must follow a diversion along Newnham Avenue and Goldington Road.
High Street had already been scheduled to close from 19:00 BST on Friday for the Bedford River Festival weekend.
