Two men have denied the murder of a 19-year-old father in Kent on Good Friday.

Tobias Agbaje, 21, and Kieron Barnes, 19, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Ashton Harrington, Whitstable on 3 April during a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday.

Kent Police were called to Belmont Road where Harrington was found with injuries consistent with stab wounds and he died at the scene.

Agbaje, of Herne Bay, and Barnes, of Sittingbourne, also denied having a bladed article.

The pair are due to face a three-week trial on 3 November.

Following Harrington's death, his mother Camille Harrington paid tribute to him as a doting father and said that life would never be the same without him.

In a statement released through Kent Police, she said: "He was the most loyal, loving, funny boy with the biggest personality and he could light up a room with his smile and laugh.

"He was loved by all that knew him. He was most happy when he was with his friends and daughter, who he absolutely doted on.

"I'm so glad he spent his last day with his daughter and myself, and I will cherish this forever."
