A presenter of BBC One's The One Show has described a rose created to mark the programme's 20th anniversary as "absolutely beautiful".

It was grown by Attleborough-based firm Peter Beales Roses, which won its 31st gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show a display featuring more than 1,000 flowers.

The "One Show rose" was unveiled at the event and shown to the viewers on Monday, with £5 of each flower's sale going to BBC Children in Need.

Presenter Alex Jones said: "It's the perfect way to mark the show's milestone birthday, and it's even more special knowing a donation from every sale will go to BBC Children in Need, a charity we're proud to champion."

She said the rose was pink and red to reflect the programme, with a yellow centre representing Children in Need.

The plant, which can grow up to 3ft (0.9m), was developed over 10 years of trials. It flowers in clusters throughout the summer, with coral-pink petals, darker edging and a golden centre.

At this year's show, the grower also unveiled a second rose for model Kate Moss, who visited the display.

Mat Nicolas, head gardener at Peter Beales, said it was "lovely" to see roses they had grown appear in people's gardens.

Senior Rosarian, Ian Limmer, said: "We are incredibly proud to introduce The One Shows 20th Rose at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026.

"This rose represents not only the very best of British rose breeding, but also a meaningful partnership supporting the wonderful work of BBC Children in Need.

"We hope gardeners across the country will enjoy growing this beautiful rose for many years to come."
