Police officer dies of head injury, inquest hears
Northamptonshire PoliceA police officer who died after a collision suffered a fatal head injury, a coroner said at an inquest opening.
PC Faizaan Najeeb was struck by a blue VW Polo while attending a crash on Station Road in Raunds, on 19 September. He later died at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge on 26 September.
Senior coroner Anne Pember said the provisional cause of death was a "head injury, pending further investigation".
She confirmed Mr Najeeb's body had been released and adjourned the inquest to 2 April 2026.

The force said his collar number, P1967, would be retired in his memory.
A man in his 20s was arrested and later bailed in connection with the incident.
