Gary Numan announced as festival headliner
Getty Images/Corine SolbergSynth-pop singer songwriter Gary Numan is set to headline a Somerset festival as it returns for its second year.
Electric Summer, a one day festival, will be held in Vivary Park in Taunton on Sunday 29 August and will also include acts Little Boots, Tiny Magnetic Pets and Tin Gun.
Numan, whose hits include 'Cars' and 'Are Friends Electric?', began his career more than four decades ago after breaking through in 1979 with his band Tubeway Army.
Jez Damsell, director of Souvenir Events and curator of the festival, said they "were totally bowled over by the universally positive feedback we received from our inaugural event this summer".
"We decided we had to raise the bar even further for 2027," he added.
Damsell said it had put together a line up that "demonstrates our commitment to showcasing electronic rock and pop and to further establish this event on the major live music calendar for Taunton".
"Confirming Gary Numan as headliner is very much a statement of intent on our part," Damsell added.
