Police continue search after security alert

Police have said specialist officers are continuing to search a property in Rosapenna Parade.

Properties in north Belfast had been evacuated on Friday morning, but cordons have since been lifted and residents have now been allowed to return to their homes.

A spokesperson for the police thanked residents "for their patience and co-operation".

The Ardoyne Community Centre has been opened for local residents.

One resident told BBC News NI she was awakened by police at about 02:00 BST and "told to leave".

She said: "I woke my kids up, and got the dog and left."
