Plans submitted by a metal recycling company to build three industrial warehouse units in Wolverhampton have been approved.

City of Wolverhampton Council has given the go-ahead for three 20x40m units at Manders Industrial Estate in Old Heath Road, following plans from Metcat Ltd in the city.

The application also included "associated HGV yard and staff parking facilities", a planning statement said.

The planned development was proposed to provide space for MetCat "as well as potential shared or exclusive use by other local businesses seeking industrial warehousing", the document added.

It said this was taking place on an existing long-standing developed industrial area "so no appreciable impact on the surrounding area can be derived".
