New CCTV cameras for antisocial behaviour hotspots
Nottinghamshire PoliceCCTV cameras have been installed in two parks in Nottingham.
The installations, funded by the Home Office, will "improve community safety and deter criminalitym" Nottinghamshire Police said.
In addition, new screens giving officers access to the city council's CCTV feeds have been installed at Radford Road Police Station. As well as the Hyson Green footage, CCTV from other areas including Radford and Lenton will be shown 24 hours a day.
Government funding for the kit was provided through Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden to tackle anti-social behaviour "hotspots".
Godden said the installations were a "practical measure" to "help officers respond more quickly to incidents, support investigations, and provide a stronger visible deterrent" while neighbourhood Insp Elizabeth Gaskin said: "I hope residents will be reassured by the round-the-clock surveillance our officers will have."
