Surrey Fire and Rescue Service says there were no casualties

Eight cars were damaged in a fire at a hospital car park in Surrey after a blaze spread from one vehicle to others nearby.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident at the Nuffield Hospital in Guildford at about 16:45 BST on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "A vehicle fire had broken out in the hospital car park, ultimately spreading to seven vehicles and nearby shrubbery."

Five fire engines, alongside a water carrier, were deployed.

The spokesman confirmed that the fire was extinguished and crews left the scene at about 19:45.

And added: "The fire was deemed to be an accident and there were no casualties."
