Cordon as armed police respond to knife reports

A major road in Nottingham is closed while police "engage with a man" inside a house.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were at an address on Ilkeston Road after receiving reports a man "was in possession of a knife" at about 10:55 BST on Friday.

A police cordon has been put in place near the junction with Balfour Road, with traffic being diverted on to neighbouring routes.

The force is advising members of the public to "avoid the immediate area".
