Teenage boy, 16, killed in motorbike crash
BBCA teenage boy was killed and another is in a critical condition after the electric motorbike they were riding was involved in a collision with a car.
A 16-year-old, who police believe was on the back of the bike, died at the scene after emergency services were called to East Reach in Taunton, Somerset at 22:20 BST on Thursday.
The other boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance after the incident, which happened near the junction with Haydon Road.
Avon and Somerset Police has launched an investigation into the fatal collision, and officers are trying to locate the motorbike, which was not left at the site of the crash.
Police said it believed the two boys hit a car that had stopped at the traffic lights.
East Reach was closed for several hours overnight, but was reopened at about 07:30 BST.
A police spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with the boy's family at this incredibly sad and difficult time.
"His family have been notified and they will be supported by a specially-trained officer going forward."
They urged the public not to speculate about the circumstances of the crash or post any images on social media out of respect for the family.
