Pedestrian dies a month after being hit by car

A 79-year-old pedestrian has died in hospital a month after he was struck by a car in Leeds.

The man, who was hit by a Toyota Auris in Bellbrooke Avenue, Harehills, on 11 August, died on Wednesday as a result of his injuries, West Yorkshire Police said.

A 59-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving is currently on bail pending further police investigations.

A police spokesperson said it continued to appeal for witnesses to the collision, which happened near to Foundry Approach at about 09:00 BST.
