A 79-year-old man has died after a car crash near Otley, West Yorkshire Police said.

Emergency services were called to the collision between a Hyundai i10 and a grey Land Rover Range Rover at about 13:00 BST on Friday near the entrance of Stubbings Farm on Leeds Road.

The driver of the Hyundai was given emergency treatment at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later, the force said.

Police are appealing for witnesses, with the stretch of road closed to allow for investigation work. Officers also closed Old Pool Bank, with drivers advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
