Shops to reopen after glass panel falls from roof
Swan Walk Shopping CentreA West Sussex shopping centre that has been shut for nearly three weeks after a glass panel fell from its roof is due to partially reopen.
The Swan Walk Shopping Centre in Horsham has been closed since 12 July following the incident in which nobody was injured.
The site's management team confirmed some shops, including Next, TG Jones, and Toy Barnhaus, would welcome visitors again from Saturday.
"We have worked closely with our insurers to allow the reopening of these stores, which can be accessed without the public needing to walk beneath the glazed roof," the team said on social media.
Following the closure, retailers, while grateful for the support offered by Horsham District Council, were concerned by the potential economic impact of a long closure.
The management team said it would continue to "work closely" with the centre's insurer to ensure "all stores can reopen as soon as possible".
