Two eight-year-olds rescued from sea during air show
HM CoastguardTwo eight-year-old children had to be rescued from the sea in Blackpool during the town's annual air show.
Coastguards said it was "fortunate" staff were on patrol and in the "right place at the right time" when the children got into difficulty on Saturday.
Blackpool Air Show attracted thousands of visitors and crews also helped find other missing children and several people cut off by the tide.
The team based in Lytham said: "We have had to deal with some very serious jobs, including an eight-year-old fully submersed in the water."
They said they were "happy" and "extremely proud" that the incidents had concluded positively and how teams worked together.
They added: "All with the combined goal of keeping people safe while attending an amazing event at our coast."
