The registered owner of the motorcycle will be contacted, police have said

A motorcyclist was caught travelling at 131mph (211km/h) on a dual carriageway.

The biker was recorded doing nearly double the speed limit by speed camera operators at 13:52 BST on Sunday on the A14 near Felixstowe.

Suffolk Police said a letter would be sent to the registered owner and the rider would be sent a court summons due to the speed at which they were travelling.

The police described motorcyclists as being "highly vulnerable road users".

"Sadly, there has been a number of serious road traffic collisions across Norfolk and Suffolk this year involving bikes," the force added.

In 2024, 340 motorcyclists were killed in Great Britain, while 5,468 were reported to be seriously injured.
