Two Reform councillors quit for 'personal reasons'
BBCTwo Reform UK councillors have quit two weeks after they were elected to Thurrock Council.
Joe Soper and Marc Stanley were elected on 7 May as councillors for Grays.
They said their resignations were for personal reasons.
By-elections could take place in Grays Riverside and Grays Town, if requested by voters.
Soper said he resigned because "a member of our family is currently battling serious illness, and it's right that all my focus and effort is on supporting them through this difficult time".
In a statement, Stanley said: "Unfortunately, due to a change in personal circumstances, I'm not in a position to represent the people of Grays Town to the best of my ability."
Reform won 45 out of the 49 seats available on Thurrock Council in this month's local elections.
