Second man dies after three-vehicle crash

A second man has died after a three-vehicle crash, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the A386 between Hatherleigh and Folly Gate near Okehampton at about 13:50 BST on Tuesday following a collision involving a BMW estate, a Ford Transit van and a Citroen van.

The BMW driver, a 33-year-old man from the Okehampton area, died at the scene.

The driver of the Transit, a 74-year-old man from the Bude area, was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with serious injuries. Police said he died on Thursday and his family have been told. The driver of the Citroen van was not injured.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information and dashcam footage as they piece together what happened.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or has footage from the road at the time, is being urged to come forward.

The road was closed for several hours after the collision while emergency crews worked at the scene.
