Second man charged in connection with stab murder

A second man has been charged with conspiracy to murder following the death of a man who was fatally stabbed outside his house.

Zeshaan Shaukat, 34, died in hospital on 28 August, three days after being attacked on Ashville Avenue, Hodge Hill, Birmingham, police said.

Tyrell Phillips, 23, is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court, said West Midlands Police.

Mohammed Rakeeb Shafi, aged 26 and of no fixed address, was also charged with the same offence on Thursday.

A third man remains in custody for questioning, police said.

In a statement issued through police, Shaukat's family members previously said they had been left "with broken hearts".

"The pain and devastation this has caused our family is impossible to put into words," they said.

Officers overseeing the investigation said they were still keen to hear from anyone with information.
