A three-year-old child has been rescued from a pond in a Hull park by a passer-by.

Humberside Police said officers were called to Pearson Park by the ambulance service at 15:20 BST on Wednesday.

The force said the child was saved from the water by a member of the public.

The child was conscious and breathing when police arrived and was "taken to hospital as a precautionary measure", a spokesperson added.
