Boy, 12, charged over alleged sexual assault of eight-year-old girl

A 12-year-old boy has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl in Aberdeenshire.

Officers had been investigating following a report of an incident in the Duff Street area of Macduff on 10 August.

Police Scotland told BBC Scotland News that a 12-year-old boy had now been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
