M5 reopens after motorcyclist airlifted to hospital
National HighwaysAll lanes have reopened on the M5 following a serious crash involving a motorcyclist.
The northbound carriageway was shut between junction 11 for Gloucester and junction nine for Tewkesbury after the crash, which occurred at about 09:50 BST.
Gloucestershire Police said the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 70s, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment to injuries which were not deemed to be life-threatening.
According to National Highways, all lanes are now open northbound and there are no residual delays on the approach.
Police the man's next of kin had been made aware, and thanked motorists "for their patience and co-operation" during the closure.
