A man has denied murdering a father-of-one after an altercation outside a pub.

Conor Browne, 28, was stabbed in Castlederg, County Tyrone, in the early hours of 2 September 2023 and died two days later.

Adam Acheson, 30, from Baron Square Court in Drumquin, is charged with five offences including murder.

At Belfast Crown Court on Tuesday, Acheson pleaded not guilty to murder, as well as charges of common assault and affray.

He also denied perverting the course of justice on the same date by removing number plates from a white van and a charge of dangerous driving charge.

No date has been set for the trial, which a defence barrister said could last between two and three weeks.

The lawyer said a forensic toxicologist and pathologist had been instructed for the defence.

Acheson has been remanded into custody.
