A special one-of-a-kind "Wedding Wednesday" event has taken place to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a historic venue hosting ceremonies.

The Victorian Gothic Thomas Robinson Building in Stourbridge is Grade II listed and was originally built in 1879.

The milestone event saw couples offered a one-off £100 wedding, with couples filling the slots "almost immediately".

Dudley senior registrar, Penny Fulford, told BBC Radio WM: "I didn't imagine we would have as many people apply as they did, it has been very popular".

The ceremonies, held in the building's Wollescote Suite, provided what organisers described as a rare opportunity to keep costs low while still enjoying a memorable setting.

Throughout the day, the building was filled with celebration as couples exchanged vows in front of family and friends, surrounded by the distinctive historic architecture.

After falling into disrepair and suffering fire damage in 1993, the building was restored through a £1.2 million project completed in 2016 and reopened as a modern ceremony venue.

Councillor Paul Bradley, deputy leader of Dudley Council, said the anniversary marked a proud moment for the venue.

"We're delighted to be celebrating this very special milestone, as the Thomas Robinson Building marks ten years as one of our borough's most unique wedding venues," he said.

"This stunning Grade II listed building has been at the heart of thousands of couples' biggest moments over the past decade, and continues to bring people together for their special day."

He continued: "We'd like to wish all of our couples a huge congratulations and thank everyone who has been part of the building's journey so far. Here's to the next ten years of memories."
