Goose Fair dates confirmed as 10-day event returns
Getty ImagesDates for one of Nottingham's biggest events - the historic Goose Fair - have been confirmed.
The fair, which last year featured about 400 rides and stalls and attracted half a million visitors, will again take place over 10 days.
It will be held between 25 September and 4 October at the traditional venue on the Forest Recreation Ground.
The city council said the event saw a consumer spend of an estimated £11.8m in 2025.
'Vibrant energy'
This spend included £1.3m on transport, £3.5m on food and drink, and £7m on rides and attractions, the authority said.
A visitor survey showed 83% of attendees were from Nottinghamshire and 17% visited from further afield, officials said.
In an effort to reduce the impact of the fair on local residents, the city council is extending a temporary resident parking permit scheme and complimentary ride vouchers.
City council leader Neghat Khan, said: "Goose Fair brings a vibrant energy to the city, and I look forward to attending with my family and friends as I have done since I was a child growing up in Nottingham.
"The event not only supports our local economy but attracts visitors from further afield for a truly unique Nottingham experience."
William Percival, chair of the Showmen's Guild (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire branch), said: "We're pleased to have the dates confirmed for this year's Goose Fair, and everything is going well with preparations.
"The Showmen's Guild are looking forward to another 10-day event."
