The arrival of the Swatch Royal Pop collection has generated much excitement among watch enthusiasts

Shoppers have said they will camp for two nights outside a store to get their hands on a limited edition watch.

The Swatch store on Paradise Street, part of the Liverpool ONE shopping complex, will launch the new Royal Pop collection at 09:00 BST on Saturday.

Layla, from Blackpool in Lancashire, said she had been outside the shop since Thursday evening and was prepared to stay until Saturday morning.

"Everyone's really excited for the new collab that they're doing, and they've got really nice colours that pop with different outfits and everything," she explained.

The Royal Pop is a collaboration between Swatch and the Swiss luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet.

It will only be available to buy in store.

The £335 watches are in limited stock in Liverpool and the store is operating a "one per person" policy.

Layla added: "We're just a fan of watches in general to be fair - we've got collectible pocket watches passed down from family members."
