Teen charged with terror and explosives offences

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with possessing explosive substances after an investigation into suspected extreme right-wing terrorism.

The teenager, who was arrested in south Norfolk on 10 April last year, has been charged with 16 offences following work by Counter Terrorism Policing London.

The alleged offences were said to have taken place in Norfolk between April 2023 and April 2025, the Metropolitan Police said.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The boy has been charged with five counts of making, having or controlling an explosive substance and two counts of dissemination of terrorist publications.

He is also accused of possessing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

The suspect has also been charged with two counts of publishing or distributing written material which is threatening, abusive or insulting, after allegedly distributing flyers inciting racial hatred.

He is also charged with making indecent images of children, two counts of blackmail and one count of racially aggravated criminal damage.

The boy has also been accused of possessing a homemade firearm without a valid firearms certificate and one count of damaging property, over alleged graffiti.
