Driver arrested after pedestrian seriously injured
Dan JessupA pedestrian has suffered injuries believed to be life-threatening after he was hit by a car in Hastings, police said.
The 40-year-old man was taken to hospital after the collision in Station Approach at about 16:00 BST on Wednesday.
Sussex Police said a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and grievous bodily harm, and remains in custody.
Officers have appealed for anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage to contact the force.
