The home of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal, who was poisoned in a 2018 Novichok attack, is up for sale.

The three-bedroom house in Salisbury, Wiltshire, had the lethal nerve agent smeared on the door handle but has since been decontaminated and refurbished.

Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, survived the attack but never returned to their Salisbury home. The house is now being sold for £114,000 as 30% shared ownership with Wiltshire Council.

Others have lived in the home since it was decontaminated, with the estate agent describing it as "thoughtfully enhanced by the current vendors".

The listing for the house on Christie Miller Road does say "for full disclosure" that it was involved in the Novichok incident.

Russian suspects were at the centre of the investigation, but the Kremlin has always denied involvement.

Mother-of-three Dawn Sturgess, 44, died after she came into contact with a perfume bottle thought to have been used to store the nerve agent and then discarded. Her partner, Charlie Rowley, was left seriously ill but recovered.

Being sold by Carter & May, pictures from the Skripal home show it with a modernised kitchen, a "good-sized rear garden", solar panels, close to amenities and about a mile from the city centre.

The listing said: "This property offers a chance for potential owners to establish their ideal family home on the outskirts of the city."

When it was being sold a few years ago, it was being put on the market at a fixed price of £93,750, 25% of the open market value then, with rent for the remaining equity at £148.22 per week.

Previously, there were restrictions on who could buy the house with only people with a Salisbury connection eligible. There are no restrictions this time.
