Hunt for unclaimed £500k Thunderball prize winner
Getty ImagesA person who bought a lottery ticket in Wolverhampton has won a huge cash prize - but is yet to claim it.
The mystery winner bought the Thunderball ticket for the draw on 27 March and managed to match all five of the main numbers and the Thunderball number earning the £500,000 prize.
They have until 23 September to come forward to claim their winnings by producing a ticket with the lucky winning numbers, which were 2, 4, 8, 11, 23 – and the Thunderball number 5.
"Look in the pockets of clothes you might have been wearing at the time, in bags and wallets or in the glovebox of the car," urged Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery.
He added: "We are urging anyone who lives in the Wolverhampton area or was passing through the city and bought a ticket for the 27 March draw to find their ticket.
"Tell your friends, ask your family – think back to what you were doing that week. We want nothing more than to unite the rightful winner with their prize."
Anyone who believes that they have won the jackpot for the specified day, but are not able to find their ticket, can still make a claim in writing to Allwyn, but it must be within 30 days of the draw.
If the prize remains unclaimed by the deadline, the full prize amount, plus all the interest it has amassed, will be donated to National Lottery funded projects across the UK.
