Reform retains council seat in by-election
Ryan CooganReform UK has won a county council by-election in Cambridgeshire.
Chris Tirrell took the Roman Bank and Peckover seat with 1,009 votes. The Conservative candidate was in second place with 983 votes.
Reform now has eight seats on the county council and is the third largest party at the local authority. The Liberal Democrats remain in control of the local authority with 32 seats.
The seat became vacant after the previous Reform councillor Andy Osborn was convicted of electoral fraud.

- Chris Tirrell, Reform UK – 1,009
- Jackie Doyle-Price, Conservative – 983
- Diane Priscilla Cutler, Liberal Democrats – 414
- Benedict Charles Lewis Allen, Labour – 105
- Jonathon Raymond Mark Lilley, Green – 76
A seat for the Ramsey and Bury ward on the council remains vacant after a Reform councillor stood down for personal reasons.
A by-election for that seat is due to take place on 16 July.
