Attempted murder arrest after cyclist hurt in crash
BBCA man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a collision between and a car and a bike left a cyclist in a critical condition, police said.
Emergency services were called to Chartwell Road in Norwich just after 17:00 BST on Friday.
Norfolk Police said the driver of a white Mercedes failed to stop after the incident, while the cyclist - a man in his 50s - was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
A 40-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving, drink-driving and drug-driving.
Chartwell Road was closed after the crash while initial investigation work was carried out and the vehicle was recovered and seized by police.
Detectives have appealed for witnesses to the incident to get in touch.
