Motorists are experiencing long delays during rush hour

Motorists have faced long delays during the morning rush hour after a fuel spillage on the M25 overnight.

National Highways said three out of four lanes on the anti-clockwise stretch between junctions 27 and 26 near Epping in Essex were closed.

It said on its website that motorists were facing delays of two hours and there were about 10 miles of congestion in the area.

Emergency resurfacing work is taking place after a recovery truck broke down and "lost its diesel tank which has resulted in a large spillage".
