The pub landlord driving a car with 195,000 miles on the clock across Europe
BBC"This car won't be seeing any spanners from us!" Self-confessed petrolhead Dan Williams and two friends have bought a 2005 estate for £400 which has the small matter of more than 194,000 miles on the clock.
The trio are planning to drive it across Europe for charity but admit they have already discovered their online budget purchase, nicknamed Dreadfull, has a battery issue and needs jump-starting every day.
However the landlord of a pub in Nantwich, Cheshire, said they have no plans to service or swap parts on the Honda, ahead of the adventure in September.
"We're rolling with it; it's part of the risk, part of the fun, adds to it I think," he said.
They are taking part in the Skinflint Rally, a three-day endurance drive from the UK to Nice, France and all the vehicles involved must have been bought for no more than £500.
The rally is run by Rugby Round Table, who said they were all volunteers who donated time and expertise to make the event "a success year after year".
As the trip will be going via Monaco, home to a Grand Prix circuit, the friends have given their car a Formula 1 "theme".

After the organised rally, they are set to continue their driving adventure, taking in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, totaling 4000 miles.
They want to raise money for Bliss, a charity which supports the families of premature and sick babies, as one of the team had a baby who was born early.
"We all feel that everyone needs a helping hand for a good start in life," said Williams.

The high mileage estate was sold on Facebook Marketplace and Williams said the seller is now invested in her old car's adventure and wants updates on the rally.
"They had the car for six or seven years as a family car... it's probably got a bit of a sentimental value to her, she's quite happy to see it go on a bit of a tour around Europe at the end," he said.
Williams' uncle is also taking part in the challenge in a 1992 Toyota and the pub landlord said, if their Honda gave out on the journey, they would jump in his 70,000-mile automatic petrol Camry.
He added: "It's had five breakdowns and will probably have a couple more before we go!"
