New ambulance chief aiming to move service forward
St JohnAn ambulance service's new boss says she is excited to oversee an "exciting new chapter".
Heather Langlois has been announced as St John Ambulance and Rescue Service's group chief executive officer in Guernsey following the resignation of Mark Mapp in December 2025 after seven years leading the organisation.
Langlois, who will combine the job with her role as head of the St John Charity, said she planned to help the service "move forward to meet the changing needs of the community".
St John also confirmed John Atkins had been appointed as chief ambulance officer while Aimee Lihou had become chief operating officer.
St John said Langlois would take overall responsibility for leading the executive teams, long-term strategy and external affairs for both the ambulance service and the charity.
Langlois said she wanted to work collaboratively with all teams in the organisation to build trust and ensure a culture of accountability and a safe operating environment.
"It's going to be a really exciting new chapter to be able to get involved with the ambulance and rescue side of the organisation and help see that into its next chapter now too," she added.
