Police have appealed for information after a man was stabbed outside a fish and chip shop in Glenfield.

Leicestershire Police said it was called just before 18:45 BST to Faire Road on Saturday following a report of an argument involving members of staff.

The force said a man reported he had been stabbed with a kebab knife, with his injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Police said a 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and had been released on bail while inquiries continued.

Det Con Callum Judge said: "From inquiries carried out since the incident occurred, we know a grey Nissan had just pulled up and a blue vehicle was stopped in the road due to the incident.

"I'm appealing for the owners of those vehicles to come forward as they may have witnessed the incident and be able to provide information about what happened.

"I'd also appeal for anyone else who was in the area at the time but who has not yet spoken to police to get in touch."
