Firefighters tackle blaze near A14 in Suffolk
National HighwaysThe A14 had to be partially closed due to a fire in a field and woodland next to the carriageway.
Suffolk Fire Service sent three engines and a water carrier to the incident off Old Norwich Road, in Ipswich, at 10:37 BST.
Suffolk Police closed the eastbound carriageway at the Whitehouse Road junction while crews dealt with the incident.
Firefighters surrounded the blaze, which covered about two acres of grassland, before extinguishing it by 14:00.
Crews from Princes Street, Ipswich East and Needham Market were sent to the scene and water carriers were also deployed.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area "where possible" and told to expect delays, before the road was reopened.
