Fire crews tackle blaze at nature reserve

Firefighters from Dorset and Hampshire have been called to a blaze at a nature reserve.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it received the first of 60 calls at 15:07 BST, alerting it to a fire at Bourne Valley nature reserve in Poole.

It said the flames had affected approximately 200m x 100m of heathland, with about 50 firefighters at the scene.

Crews from across Dorset and Hampshire attended, with some using water carriers and small 4x4 appliances, the service added.
