An "immersive mobile museum" designed to support people with dementia is set to come to Lancashire as part of this year's Dementia Action Week.

House of Memories: On the Road is an immersive experience that "uses familiar objects, images and memories to spark conversation, connection and wellbeing", according to South Ribble Borough Council.

The council said the mobile museum would visit the Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre car park, in Withy Grove Park, on 19 May from 11:00 to 16:00 BST.

Councillor Aniela Bylinski Gelder, Cabinet Member for Communities and Customers, said: "I'm so proud that we're able to bring this innovative experience to the borough to support some of our most vulnerable.

"The [experience] will be a meaningful opportunity for people living with dementia, their families and carers to connect and I hope that people will come and join us on 19 May."

Alongside the mobile museum experience, visitors will be able to access information about practical dementia support tools, including forget‑me‑not forms, hospital passports, hidden disability lanyards, and message in a bottle schemes.

Visitors are advised to wear warm, suitable clothing, as the experience takes place in a mobile unit.
