Child, 3, dies in window fall from Sutton flat

A three-year-old boy has died after falling from a block of flats in south London.

The child fell from a second-storey window in Sutton at about 17:20 BST on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital but later died.

A woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said they were called to reports a child had fallen from height from a home address in Sutton.

"A three-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment where he sadly died. His next of kin are aware.

"A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of child neglect and has since been bailed to return at a later date.

"Enquiries into the circumstances continue."
