Councillor rapped over bullying complaints

A councillor has been castigated for bullying a member of the public as well as staff at a car repair garage.

Slough Borough Council said two separate complaints against Subash Mohindra were upheld by its standards committee - both relating to allegations of bullying, disrespect and inappropriate use of position.

It said the Conservative councillor showed a "clear lack of respect" to an individual and staff at Bucks Car Repairs.

Mohindra was officially censured and ordered to attend training on his role as a councillor.

Two separate complaints were heard against Mohindra, the ward councillor for Upton, by the council's standards committee on 16 July and 7 August 2026.

The committee heard that he had "failed to demonstrate impartiality", leading to him becoming over-involved in private disputes between neighbours.

In relation to Bucks Car Repairs, the council said he had threatened to call the police and have the premises closed down.

It said that Mohindra had "chosen not to apologise or show remorse for his poor behaviour".

In a statement, the council said: "Cllr Mohindra showed no interest in understanding the views or position of these individuals.

"Elected members serve the public as a whole and should not get involved in private neighbour disputes nor unreasonably take the side on one section of the community over the needs and rights of another," it added.
